Autumn in the Larches

September and October are Glacier's best-kept secret. The larch trees turn brilliant gold, the crowds thin, and the trails fall quiet. Bears are actively feeding before hibernation, making wildlife sightings more frequent. The light is extraordinary. If you can only visit once — consider fall.
